Grade Divisions

Scoopers K -2nd grade Co-Ed:

(players must be enrolled in appropriate grades and not older than 10 by Aug 31, 2012)

This is a developmental, limited contact co-ed program which will consist of four sessions to teach basic skills followed by six game days. At the completion of the “skills” days, the players will be divided into teams. Each of the game days will include a 30-45 minute warm-up and group drills before the games begin, games will follow modified rules (no contact— 7 vs. 7). The games will have referees but the scores will not be recorded and standings are not maintained. All games will be held at fields located adjacent to Cheyenne Middle School .

The goal of the Scoopers program is to promote an environment that emphasizes fun while developing lacrosse skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. We want our players to develop a life-long love of the game of lacrosse.

As a part of registration, each player will receive their own stick. This will be theirs to keep, these sticks are smaller versions of the standard sticks and will provide a better learning experience as the kids develop lacrosse skills. A pinnie is also provided to each player.

3rd – 8th grades

The girls youth program is a recreational program open to new and experienced lacrosse players in 3rd through 8th grade. Players will have no more than three events per week.
Please note that during the 2011 Season, two evening practices were offered, allowing players the flexibility to choose one or both. We expect to to continue this in 2012.
Games will be played at the Cheyenne Middle School fields on Saturdays from the first weekend in March through mid-May, with the exception of two tournament events in North Texas.
One tournament is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of April 14, 2012. The other tournament date is TBD. Participation is optional, although strongly encouraged as it is an excellent opportunity.
Parents are responsible for transportation to the tournaments.
Teams breakouts may be adjusted based on registration numbers and grade mix.

4th – 7th grade players may play up one year as long as parents sign additional waivers. For example, a 4th grader may choose to play in the 5/6th grade group but a 3rd grader cannot move up two years to the 5/6th grade group.

8th grade players will NOT be allowed to play up into the high school division.
